Offering a full complement of surgical services. Dr. Crystal Lee has a love for emergency colic surgery, and an interest in a wide variety of elective surgery cases. Our facility incorporates a rope recovery system that optimizes safety for our patients, and a surgery viewing window for our clients.
SURGERY
PERFORMANCE HORSE CARE AND LAMENESS EXAMS
Sport horse medicine, soundness evaluations, and cutting edge regenerative medicine to keep your performance horses at the top of their game. We value working with you to make sure you reach your goals, whether those be in English or western disciplines.
PODIATRY
Dr. Kirby Penttila can make a world of difference in a horse’s life and athletic career by optimizing the biomechanics of the foot. We work side by side with farrier Kirk Shaw of Equine Unlimited on many of our more complicated podiatry cases.
PRE-PURCHASE EVALUATION
We take pride in offering a comprehensive prepurchase exam, providing a written report and an in depth conversation on this snapshot in time of what the horse looks like today, and where it might take you tomorrow.
DENTISTRY
We offer both the routine dental care and maintenance that keeps horses healthy, and the advanced techniques and extractions that characterize specialized care.
REPRODUCTION
Mare cycle management, breeding to cooled and frozen semen, embryo transfer, pregnancy checks, and collecting stallions for both shipped cooled and frozen semen.
PREVENTATIVE CARE
Wellness exams, blood tests, and vaccines form the cornerstone of looking after your horses. Our veterinarians can tailor the visit to achieve your goals. We also offer more economical appointments with our technicians, who can administer vaccines and other medications, draw blood, and perform bandage changes and other treatments.
EMERGENCY SERVICES
We are committed to the 24/7 care of your horses, and to being here when you need us the most. Emergencies at your barn or property are responded to quickly and effectively, and emergencies brought to us can be triaged and offered a high level of diagnostics and critical care.
FOALING MANAGEMENT
We provide all levels of foaling care, from high risk pregnancy management requiring intensive care to economical routine foalings managed without stress for the convenience and peace of mind of the owners.
INTERNAL MEDICINE
Diagnosis and treatment of contagious disease, colic, stomach ulcers, respiratory conditions, urinary conditions, metabolic disorders, muscle diseases, cardiovascular conditions, and neurologic disease. Internal medicine consults are available with specialist Dr. Marie-France Roy.
OPHTHALMOLOGY
We treat eye injuries, corneal ulcers, and inflammatory conditions such as recurrent equine uveitis, and routinely perform standing enucleations (eye removals). Ophthalmologist consults and surgeries such as corneal procedures and cyclosporine implants are available with specialist Dr. Kelli Ramey.
EUTHANASIA
Our compassionate team of veterinarians and veterinary professionals are here to support you and your horse through quality of life and humane euthanasia decisions.
RVT APPOINTMENTS
Our RVTs have completed several years of post secondary training and have successfully passed the Veterinary Technicians National Examination in order to provide services at our clinic.
EQUINE VETERINARY MEDICAL MANIPULATION
This manual therapy, similar to chiropractic work or spinal manipulation therapy, includes a full-body assessment of the horse and incorporates spinal manipulation, fascial work, trigger-point therapy, acupressure, and massage.
