Equinosis Lameness Locator

The Equinosis Lameness Locator is used as a tool; part of a complete lameness evaluation and workup, and interpreted in light of the veterinarian’s visual exam findings. It is also valuable to enable a sensitive preseason soundness evaluation, allowing us to catch things that may become a problem later on. As part of a prepurchase exam, it allows an accurate snapshot of the soundness of the horse at that point in time.

In a perfectly sound horse, the movement of the head and the pelvis would be perfectly symmetrical. The Equinosis Lameness Locator measures any assymmetry that is present with ten times more sensitivity than the human eye. It allows us to measure very subtle lamenesses in a consistent manner, and allows us to perform nerve blocks and reach a definitive diagnosis on these cases which might otherwise just be chalked up to poor performance.
