Dr. Erika Sjolin, DVM

Dr. Sjolin is currently a second year internal medicine resident at the Ontario Veterinary College.

Dr. Erika Sjolin grew up in Peterborough, Ontario and completed her Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph. Growing up, she loved all animals, so during this degree, she took every opportunity to work with different animals. She worked at both small animal and equine clinics, as well as spending one summer as an intern at a local wildlife rehabilitation facility, and two summers working as a zookeeper at the Toronto Zoo!

Dr. Sjolin received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in the spring of 2021. She especially enjoyed her rotations in large animal internal medicine and equine lameness. After visiting Burwash Equine Services during her final year, Dr. Sjolin felt that it would be a great fit and the best place to begin her veterinary career, and she accepted an internship for 2021-2022 year. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, reading, and petting dogs.

Erika enjoyed her internship at Burwash Equine. She loved meeting all the clients and patients, and learned so much from working with all the different vets at the clinic! She specifically enjoyed working with the foals during the foaling season.
