Summer Student Positions
We typically hire three summer students to work full time from May to August. These students rotate through duties in the barn, breeding shed, and clinic. We consider pre-veterinary students, veterinary techologist students, and first and second year veterinary students for these positions.
Duties are primarily farm labour and caring for the horses, with the intent to get students as involved with cases as possible. Days may include assisting with breeding mares and handling stallions, assisting the vets with procedures with the opportunity to go on farm calls, feeding and care of the horses including cleaning stalls, farm maintenance and yard work, assisting in the office, and housekeeping and daily clean up in the clinic. Weekend work is required two of every three weekends, with two days off during the following week. Some evening duties are possible.
Applications for these positions are accepted in the fall for the following summer. Interviews are typically conducted in December and January. If you would like to apply, please email a cover letter, CV, and references to firstname.lastname@example.org.
