Dr. Jennifer Morrissey, DVM, DACT
Dr. Jennifer Morrissey originally hails from the state of Maryland. She grew up riding in Pony Club and showing in dressage and eventing. She completed her Bachelor of Science from Penn State and then graduated from veterinary school at Cornell University in 2013. After graduation, Dr. Morrissey completed a joint internship at Moore Equine Veterinary Centre and the University of Calgary. Her love of equine reproduction then led her to complete a residency in equine theriogenology (reproduction) at Colorado State University. While at Colorado State, she also completed a Masters degree in Clinical Sciences with a research focus of Escherichia coli infections in the equine uterus. Dr. Morrissey has had the great opportunity to work at reproductive practices all over the United States and the world, including New Zealand, and has passed her board exam for the American College of Theriogenologists. Dr. Morrissey enjoys working on all aspects of equine reproduction including management of subfertile mares, stallion management, and care of newborn foals. She also enjoys performing general wellness and routine care exams for equine patients. While not working, she enjoys baking, reading, hiking, and exploring the beautiful area around Cochrane. She lives with her cat, Aoife, who has been with her since her first year of vet school.
