Dr. Crystal Lee,
DVM, DACVS

Dr. Crystal Lee grew up east of Edmonton on an acreage in the Ardrossan area, and was very involved for many years in driving and showing miniature horses across North America. After two years of pre-veterinary studies at the University of Alberta, she attended the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with Distinction in 2009. She completed an internship in equine medicine and surgery at the University of Missouri, and then an equine surgical residency at Oklahoma State University, before starting with Burwash Equine Services in 2014. In 2017, she joined Dr. Kirby Penttila as a partner in the practice. She is a board-certified surgeon as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Areas of equine practice that she enjoys the most include all aspects of surgery and lameness, as well as the variety of general practice. Outside of veterinary medicine she likes to ski and travel, and enjoys reading, swimming, baking, hiking, and spending time with her husband Matt and her two young daughters, Andrea and Nora.
